The Yoga Study Group is a monthly four hour session run over half yearly terms where aspects of yoga beyond what is traditionally taught in a normal class are explored.
This course is run in 6 month terms each year – April to September, and October to March - (usually) on the 3rd Saturday of each month, from 12 - 4pm.
It consists of two components - a yoga philosophy part, and a practice/teacher training section.
The yoga philosophy component involves discussion of lectures and commentaries on the Yoga Sutras, the root philosophical text upon which all yoga practice is based.
The practice/teacher training section is for more experienced practitioners who are ready to work towards more advanced asanas and/or those who are interested in cultivating teaching skills with the potential of applying for Iyengar Yoga Teacher Certification.
It is possible to attend the yoga philosophy segment (12 - 2pm) on its own.
An upfront payment of $360 is required to cover a six month term ($180 if attending the yoga philosophy component only).
We are currently registering interest in the upcoming October 2023 - March 2024 term, which will be held on Saturdays from 12 – 4pm over the following dates: 21st Oct, 18th Nov, 2nd Dec, 20th Jan, 17th Feb & 16th Mar.
The option of attending via Zoom is also available.
